high sugar level and diet

Can a "heavy" diet with a lot of fasting during the day (until the evening) and a big weight reduction (6 pounds a week) cause a significant raise in blood sugar? My wife is experiencing such a situation. Thanks for anybody. beni. - |

It's possible it goes in the other direction,ie. high blood glucose is
causing the weight loss. This is often a symptom of diabetes. For someone with advanced metabolic syndrom, often preceeds diabetes, fasting causes what is called a liver dump as a reaction to fasting.
