The Perfect Nootropic/energy drink/supplement?

2004-04-19 11:53:11 PM
If you could design the perfect drink/supplement designed to give you
a mental and physical lift...what would it be?
I think I would come up with some kind of mixture between Durk Pearson
and Sandy Shaw's fast blast and Twinlabs Choline cocktail II.
Do any of you have a better suggestion or any of your own recipes that
you use for these purposes?

A good cup of hot cocoa on a cold night. Do you want us to look for
sources of the below, or purchase them, or become a member of a mlm
scheme? Cocoa drinkers want to know.

Believe it or not...I simply want to know...not trying to sell
anything. I was hoping to tap the knowledge of this board to get
opinions on the perfect supplement for physical and mental energy. Is
cocoa your final answer?..Are you in an mlm scheme that sells cocoa?
Are you trying to sell me cocoa? gmab!

Re:The Perfect Nootropic/energy drink/supplement?

It better have some fat. I would think light (meaning, doesn't taste too
strongly of olives) olive oil would be a good starting point. And some EPA &
DHA EFA's, toss those in there too. How about a protein source, what do you
guys think? Whey protein concentrate? Or something else? A raw egg yolk
might do. :) I'm not saying that so jokingly either, at least I don't think.
And do we need to throw in carbohydrates as well. I guess that depends on
your philosophy. I don't think they're really necessary unless you're an
Olympic athelete and have some particular need for glycogen. If you are
going to toss some carbs into the mix, what's the best slow-releasing
carbohydrate (low glycemic index) that can be kept in liquid form? Maybe
that's asking too much . . .
Once you have that figured out, throw in lots of extra of cocoa solids,
garlic (or, maybe not!), green tea, etc. And I'm semi-serious about the raw
egg yolk.
